Vendredi 02 octobre, c'était le dernier concert du "pack promotionnel" acheté en juillet (3 concerts pour 150$) avec Camille et Martial. Martial étant de corvée travail ce soir là, on s'est dirigé avec Camille - après une pizza sympa dans un restau italien, où la serveuse était française - vers le Arts Center sur les coups de 19h45. Au programme :
- la "première mondiale" Re-collecting ASTORoids composé par Elena Kats-Chernin, hommage à Astor Piazzola, composé spécialement pour le Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, qui en a joué 3 des 5 mouvements.
- Music for Strings, Percussion and Celese, de Bartók (ça vous rappelle quelque chose ? Eh oui, j'ai vu ce morceau à l'opéra de Sydney en Mars !!!)
et la Symphonie N.6 en Si mineur, op. 74 de Tchaikovski, dite Pathétique.
Et là, petite traduction de l'extrait du commentaire du programme :
La fin du troisième mouvement, provocatrice d'applaudissement [...]
Pour "rappel", lors d'un concert classique, il est de coutume de ne pas applaudir entre les mouvements d'un concerto (généralement 3 mouvements) ou d'une symphonie (généralement 4 mouvements). Et ben ça n'as pas raté: à la fin du troisième mouvement, tout le public a applaudit (moi compris, meme si j'ai démarré 15 secondes après tout le monde - entre autre parce que j'avais lu le texte avant :-) mais que j'avais pas compté les mouvements - d'où l'hésitation de 15 secondes...) !
Après ce concert, musique encore, avec le DJ Erol Alkan qui mixait au Sorry Grandma(merci Alasdair). Fin de soirée vers 4h30 du matin...
Friday 02, last concert of the "promotional pack" bought in July with Martial and Camille. Martial working those night, after a nice pizza in a good italian restaurant on Federation Square, we went to the Arts Center with Camille around 7.45pm. The Program was the following :
- the "world premiere" Re-collecting ASTORoids written by Elena Kats-Chernin, Tribute to Astor Piazzola, written especialy for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, which played 3 of the 5 movements.
- Music for Strings, Percussion and Celese, de Bartók (Yes, i already saw this piece at the Opera House in March!!!)
- and the Symphonie N.6 in B minor, op. 74 of Tchaikovski, called Pathétique.

Just as a reminder, in a classical concert, the public generally applause at the end of a concerto (usually 3 movements) or of a symphony (usually 4 movements) and not between. And guess what ? At the end of the third movement, everybody applaused (me too, even if i started 15 secondes after - because first i have read the texte before :-) but did not count the movements - that explains the 15 secondes hesitation...) !
After the concert, music again, with the DJ Erol Alkan who was mixing at the Sorry Grandma(Thank you Alasdair). End of the night "as usual" around 4.30am on saturday...
