Semaine "sportive"

Le thème de la semaine a été "Sport" :
Match mercredi Australie - Japon, en foot (le vrai), qualificatif pour la coupe du monde 2010 en Afrique du Sud (mais un peu pour du beurre, vu que les deux équipes étaient déjà qualifiées avant le match), au MCG, et samedi, Australie - Italie, en rugby, à l'Etihad Stadium.

Hi Everyone

As everyone is aware the flu season is here. At present the main differences between normal flu and swine flu is the very high level of contagion and no one is immune to swine flu unlike some of the other variants – the impacts may change if the swine flu virus mutates.

As our business relies heavily on people it is in the Company interest (and hence in yours) to limit as far as possible those of us who are sick – so –

· As indicated previously the Company will pay out of pocket expenses associated with flu injections – please send Scott your receipts with your expense claim.

· If you have flu or flu symptoms please stay away from work. You only need to see the doctor once for a “certificate” –and you should see a doctor anyway if you have “flu” symptoms .

· Please be extra careful with personal hygiene – wash hands thoroughly and frequently with soap and dry with paper towels. Use tissues to cover coughs and sneezes. Cloth handtowels have been removed from the Company’s toilets.

· Please be extra careful with kitchen hygiene - especially with anything that is shared – cups, glasses etc should be properly washed in hot water with detergent. Prologic has made some changes to help – chux are now to be used as tea-towels & will be replaced daily, and there is disinfectant bench cleaner in the kitchen.

· More information is available at: www.pandemic.tas.gov.au . If you get sick with a fever together with a cough, or a sore throat, or a blocked or runny nose, and you think you may have been exposed to Swine Flu then you should ring 1800 358 362.

Je ne me sens pas trop concerné, même si j'ai la gorge qui gratte et que j'ai un petit rhume pas bien méchant... ;-)

Travail, suite

Après relecture et modification, j'ai fini par signé 2 contrats, me garantissant de travailler un minimum de 16h par semaine. De plus, mon travail chez des clients la semaine passée, et d'autres commandes réalisées m'ont été rémunéré ! youpi ! ça devrait m'aider à tenir au mois de juin.
Enfin, j'ai mon planning du mois de juin : je devrais travailler 17 jours, dont deux jours à Brisbane et deux jours à Sydney !
En revanche, j'ai du acheter des habits pour travailler... Aïe le portefeuille...

I finally signed two contracts - one until the 10th september, end of my first visa, and the second one until march 2010 (that means i'll have to apply for an extension...) ! So i get a job ! But the contract guarantees me to work at least 16h a week. Then, my work of may for several customers - meetings, and deliveries - has been paid !! Youhou !
And i have also my work's schedule for june : i should work 17 days, with 2 days in Sydney, and two days in Brisbane !
But i had to buy some clothes, too, and my credit card is not really happy about that...

Travail

Depuis le début du mois, j'ai fait plusieurs entretiens avec des clients de mon potentiel futur employeur, je me suis même déplacé chez certains d'entre eux, pour des "réunions de travail" !
De plus, depuis quelques jours, j'ai les "clés de la maison", je peux aller et venir n'importe quand (pendant les horaires d'ouvertures de l'immeuble) même quand personne n'est dans les bureaux !
Mais je n'ai toujours pas signé de contrat !

Since the beginning of the month i have done several interviews with customers of my "potential futur employer", i even came to several "work meetings".
And since few days, i'have got "the house's keys", i can come at anytime to the office, even when there is nobody inside...
But i still don't have sign a contract.

Emménagement

Aujourd'hui, emménagement.
Avec Kellan, mon nouveau coloc', on est d'abord aller chez Ikéa, chercher quelques meubles - pour moi, avant tout - (un lit, par exemple), puis on est passé par son ancien chez lui pour y recupérer les siens.
A peine arrivés à notre "nouvel appartement", sans avoir eu le temps de vider le van, que je devais me rafraichir pour ensuite aller à un entretien - encore un ! - avec un client de mon potentiel futur employeur...

Today, i moved in !
With Kellan, my new flatmate, we first went to Ikea in order that i buy some furnitures (a bed, for exemple), then we go to his previous flat, to take his furnitures.
Back to the flat, no time for me to start to empty the van, i had to run to an interview with a client of my potential next compagny...

ANZAC DAY

Aujourd'hui, Footy, au MCG (encore !). Oui, mais là, "c'est pas pareil", c'est le ANZAC DAY. Le match, un classique en danger (visiblement) oppose deux équipes de Melbourne, Essendon contre Collingwood. Le match se joue à guichets fermés, mais avec quelques personnes de l'auberge, on décide quand même de tenter notre chance en y allant, en espérant trouver des places là bas. Et on a eu de la chance, on a trouvé une personne qui vendait quatre places les unes à coté des autres ! On fait donc partie de la foule, plus de 80 000 personnes dans le stade, à vivre ce "moment de culture australienne", avec cérémonie, hymne national, etc.

Le match a tenu toutes ses promesses, Essendon arrachant la victoire dans les dernières secondes avec un but à 6 points, gagnant 93 à 88...

Today, Footy, at the MCG (again!). Yes, but today is the ANZAC DAY. The game, that looks to be a classical - in danger - is played by two teams of Melbourne, Essendon and Collingwood. The game is sold out, but even if we don't have tickets, with some other people of the hostel, we decide to "test our luck", hoping we can find some tickets there. And we did !!!! There was one people who was selling for places together ! So we were part of the crowd, more than 80 000 people in the MCG, to experience this "australian moment", with all the ceremony, national anthem, etc. And the game was a close one, Essendon winning in the last few seconds with a six points kick, 93 to 88...

Concert au Arts Center

Ce soir, concert au Arts Center ! Au programme, il y avait encore du Beethoven ! Et le détail marrant, c'est que c'était le même chef d'orchestre qui dirigeait ce soir le Melbourne Symphonic Orchestra ce soir qui avait dirigé le concert vu à l'Opéra de Sydney. L'écran de mon appareil photo ne fonctionnant plus, je n'ai pu désactiver le flash, pour prendre une photo, ce qui m'a valu tout d'abord de raté la photo, et ensuite, de me faire repérer par les fens de la salle, qui m'ont demandé de ne pas en prendre en plus... :'(

Tonight, concert at the Arts Center ! Beethoven, again !!! And it was the same conductor that i have seen at the Opera House of Sydney that was leading the Melbourne Symphonic Orchestra tonight.
